TAI CHI (Yang Style - 10 Forms)
Tai Chi Chaun is one of the internal martial arts which has been proven to promote wellness, reduce stress and anxiety, improve balance, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. Research studies at the Mayo Clinic have concluded that tai chi helps reduce stress. Tai Chi is done very slowly as one focuses on movement and breathing.
Tai Chi is gentle, graceful, yet powerful. It can be practiced by anyone. Tai Chi has shown to be enormously effective for young and old and has improved the quality of life for those facing arthritis and Parkinson’s Disease. With an understanding of the “chi” or energy center, one becomes aware of the enormous potential of the body to move with total efficiency, relaxation and power. There are also notable mental/spiritual benefits of tai chi including increased focus of mind and greater tranquility.
Tai Chi Chuan For Beginners meets every Tuesday @ 6:30 -7:30pm
Vipassana is an ancient form of meditation practiced by the Buddha himself. It translates as "mindfulness" or "awareness," and its aim is deceptively simple: to live our lives with more awareness, more compassion, and more insight.
Mindfulness meditation helps us learn to deal with reality (including our own self) as it is, not as we wish it would be -- because only by first accepting reality can we change it.
Join us in exploring how to live our lives more awake!
Meets every Saturday Morning @ 10:00 - 10:45 am
